1. Does franchising really work in healthcare?
It’s an unusual myth that somehow franchising of health services doesn’t work. Many practitioners think the two are incompatible for some reason. The reality is that franchising is simply a form of business partnership or mixed ownership, used in all sorts of professional services including medical, pathology, vetenarian, chiropractic, personal training, and legal and accounting businesses. All over the world, there have also been successful franchise businesses specifically in physiotherapy and physical therapy. Whilst franchising possibly not been done well in Australia until now, this shouldn’t suggest franchising doesn’t work. Just look at the majority of shops in your local mall or shopping complex. More than half (if not more) are franchises...because franchising really does work! It is no different tin physiotherapy as we have already proven with more than 50 successful locations Australian wide.
2. How is BIM different from other physiotherapy Groups?
This is the fundamental question. If we were NOT different, then we wouldn’t have had such extraordinary results. We operate in an industry where similar people train as physios in similar universities learning similar curriculum, who graduate into similar jobs who then start similar practices, offering similar services at similar prices and not surprisingly...get very similar results! We are not similar. We are distinctly different from the way our brand looks, feels and is lived. We have gone to incredible lengths to build a service offering to clients that are unique and innovative! We put special effort into building workplaces of choice. We generate business returns that are anything like that found elsewhere in the industry. We are different to any physio Group partnership that has ever gone before us. Contact us and we’ll show you how in more detail.
3. Do you have to be a physio to buy a franchise?
No. Whilst physiotherapists own the majority of our practices, this is really starting to change. With the success we are having, we now have practice managers, their family members, business owners, and other credentialed health care clinicians who are buying franchises and operating a suite of physiotherapy and related services from the practice. Our related services include massage, personal training, Pilates, chiropractics, osteopathy, podiatry, naturopathy, dietetic services, and related treatments.
4. Does Back In Motion make you sell services to patients they don’t really want or need?
We built our model on CLIENT LOYALTY. Whilst we invest into lifetime relationships with our clients, it doesn’t’ mean they come to us every day for the rest of their life. We are committed to helping people experience full health as a journey and not just a destination and so we offer them personalised, goal-orientated health ‘roadmaps’ to guide them. However, at the end of the day, no one is given a hard sell or pressured – we are simply their health advisors. If the clients didn’t like what we offered them and how we go about it, then they would NOT come back and refer all their friends. The fact we don’t have this problem and our Group is growing explosively demonstrates we are client-focused in all our services.
5. How much does it cost to buy a franchise?
The cost of the franchise licence is under $50,000. However, to be more specific, it’s best we have a full conversation about the opportunity and value otherwise you may misunderstand the partnership opportunity. We don’t SELL franchises. We grant them to the right candidates. We have never let money get in the way of offering the right people an opportunity to run a Back In Motion practice and there are many ways to make it affordable for you. We also guarantee our results, and you only pay us when we substantially influence your practice growth.
6. What if it doesn’t work, or I want to leave the Group in the future?
It is a well-regarded fact that approx 10% of even the best franchises still fail (even McDonalds) – as there is no foolproof method to guard against foolishness and incompetence of some operators. However, it is our experience and intent that no BIM practices will suffer this fate. We all have a vested interest to see explosive growth and lifestyle benefits from the practice. If anyone wishes to leave for other reasons however then there are multiple ways this is possible on good terms for all parties.
7. How do I sell my practice later?
If you want to sell your practice at any time in the future as an exit strategy, then we will assist you to get the best market price for your goodwill as a going concern. We may even consider purchasing git ourselves. Our experience to date has been that we have been able to secure above market rates for the sale of BM practices within the Group than independent practice owners can ever get in the open industry.
8. How can I learn more about it?
Ring us, email, or log your interest on our Contact page. We can have a phone conference, personal visit, or tour of practices to help you understand more about eh opportunity. We can send you an info pack with a DVD and media articles. If you like what you see, you will be formally invited to apply for a franchise, and we will then give you copies of Disclosure Document and Franchise agreements to consider with your advisors without any obligation to proceed.
