Back In Motion continues to grow because of the ambitious, energetic, and extremely capable network of Practice Directors (Franchisees) running successful BIM practices. Not only do they all have something in common, wanting to deliver the best physiotherapy experience and outcomes for their clients but also they want to be part of a network of like-minded individuals that want to run successful, sustainable physiotherapy practices.
Here are some of their insights.
Back In Motion Sydenham Franchisee- Anthony Belcher
on joining Back In Motion:
"I definitely feel I have made the right decision joining BIM. There is absolutely no way I could have achieved what I have thus far, and what I am going to achieve without the help of BIM. I’m a trained Physio and had no real business savvy. Over the last 3.5 years I’ve learnt so much about running a successful business."
on Franchise fees:
"If you want to grow your practice bigger than it is now then it is well worth it. If you’re looking to stay the same size as you are now, then there’s no point in doing it. My aim is to have a clinic with 6-8 physios; we started with two, 3.5 years ago. We have just employed our 5th Physio and our 6th is starting next month."
on working with the Back In Motion Franchise System:
"I love the structured nature of the franchise, because the strategies are based on successful proven systems. I don’t want to re-invent the wheel, I just want a successful business, and that’s exactly what we are all continually working towards."
on physio recruitment and retention:
"We get excellent recruitment assistance and the biggest thing to help your practice grow is recruiting and retaining physios. When we fitted out our staff LOVED the new facilities and being part of something professional."
on Back In Motion Management:
"I’ve never had a problem with Back In Motion as the Franchisor; they are thinking the same way I am. They want to help us grow the business and hence grow the group. It is a win/win environment"
Back In Motion Aspendale Gardens Franchisee- Nathan Rickard
on joining Back In Motion:
"After working in a fully employed capacity, I saw the potential to earn more by buying into the franchise, and hence made the move. The ethos of the group sat very well with me initially, and since my beliefs were the same as the group, joining as a Director was a very easy decision."
on Back In Motion resources and expertise:
"I have an excellent mentor as a Business Coach with experience in the field of health care, a full time Marketing Consultant, a Graphic Designer, and a Systems/Best practice manager all at my finger tips. And they have developed practices that work and make money. No clinic has failed. They have a track record that anyone who knows business would applaud; and I pay for them. They see what works best over 30+ Physio clinics all the same as mine. I take their advice and systems eagerly. And they work. To not take it on board and utilize it to your advantage would be just plain stupid."
on peer support network:
"The relationships and support I get from other practice directors is fantastic. Again, we learn a lot from each other’s experiences. Two heads are better than one, and 30+ heads are better again!
on physio recruitment and retention:
"Staff retention is much easier with a career ladder and continual opportunities for staff to progress and therefore not wander off to other jobs or careers. In 3+ years I’ve only lost one Physio, and this was my own fault in putting on someone I thought I could inspire to love their career again."
on clinical support and professional development:
"The clinical support is fantastic. We meet weekly with two other clinics with a total of 13 Physios for inservices. We have an exclusive, BIM Only, Clinical Wiki, (let me know if you haven’t learnt about that) and each other’s experience to continue developing our clinical skills. When one of us goes away and does an external course, we come back and educate the others. We also have internal courses run from time to time a cheaper rates that what you can get externally. This kind of development wouldn’t be possible as a solo clinic, and our clinical skills are much better as a result."
on Back In Motion brand recognition:
"We are getting greater brand recognition and inter-clinic referrals all the time. This will only become a bigger influence as time passes and more clinics join the group. Our scale also gives us the ability to do larger marketing and advertising campaigns which only strengthens the awareness even more"
on Back In Motion Management:
"The integrity of management is excellent. They want what is best for us, because what is best for us is best for them. I’ve heard of other people having major “deal-breaker” problems with other Franchises, but I can easily say that that doesn’t occur in BIM. I also sometimes disagree with my wife, but I’m still married to her!"
