Principal Physiotherapist:
Simon Holt
Simon has extensive Physiotherapy experience, having worked in a range of private Physio clinics, major tertiary hospitals and spending 2 years gaining further experience living and working in London. He moved back to Melbourne from London in 2007 to take up his position as Principal Physiotherapist at Back In Motion Blackburn.
Whilst developing a broad skill set during his time as a Physiotherapist, Simon has gained particular interest in the treatment of sports injuries along with the management of neck and lower back pain. His 'Physio Philosophy' is focussed towards empowering each patient to understand and gain long term resolution of their symptoms whilst also using effective manual techniques to help relieve pain.
When not working, Simon enjoys playing sport, running, going to the football and spending time with friends and his wife Amy.
Associate Physiotherapist:
Sean Warren:
Sean started with Back In Motion Blackburn team in January 2009 after previously working in the city. He has a wide and diverse wealth of experience and a passion for helping people to better their lives through the philosophy of promoting healthy living, purposeful education, regular exercise and providing an excellent quality of care.
Sean specialises in helping people manage both acute and longer term lower back and neck pain. He realises these types of injury can be extremely debilitating, however also believes that with the correct management they can be significantly improved to help improve quality of life.
Georghia Giannopoulou:
Georghia is passionate about Physiotherapy and enjoys the challenges of working with all injuries and problems including acute and chronic lower back pain, knee pain and acute sporting injuries. Geoghia also has a special interest in all things related to Women’s Health and commonly utilises the many and varied benefits of Clinical Pilates.
Outside of Physiotherapy, Georghia enjoys running and going to the gym to keep fit, playing netball and keeping one eye peeled on the latest fashion coming out of Paris and Milan!
Mike Neill:
Mike grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand where he completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree and spent time working in orthopaedic practice before relocating to Melbourne in 2010 to join the Back in Motion team here at Blackburn South. Mike is extremely passionate about all aspects of physiotherapy, but has particular interest in sporting and spinal injuries. Mike's 'physio philosophy' centres strongly on combining hands-on treatment with appropriate self-management strategies to achieve his client’s goals.
When not working Mike loves travelling and discovering new places and has recently spent time backpacking around South East Asia. Mike also enjoys playing sport and keeping fit by going to the gym and through various other forms of training.
Practice Manager- Rebecca McMahon:
Rebecca joined the Back In Motion team in April 2009 after previously working in various areas of the health industry. She has also worked in hospitality and the performing arts. Rebecca loves meeting all the lovely clients who come to BIM and continually learning more about physiotherapy and the health field.
Rebecca has trained professionally in dance and musical theatre. Outside work hours she is more than likely at a rehearsal or on the stage. Rebecca is also a dance teacher and has previously owned her own dance school. She left her family behind in Tamworth in 2005 to move to Melbourne for more theatrical opportunities. Rebecca was very happily married to Simon (not of the Back In Motion variety!) in March 2010.
Administration-
Jane Biggin:
Jane joined the Back In Motion team in April 2010. Last year she spent three months volunteering in an orphanage in India and is currently completing a Bachelor of Environmental Science. Jane also coaches rowing, so has a good understanding of sports biomechanics, injuries and nutrition.
When she’s not working or studying, Jane enjoys playing netball and hockey, doing yoga and just hanging out with her friends. Jane is a bright and bubbly person and enjoys having a chat and getting to know people.
Tema Saward:
Tema joined the Back In Motion team in April 2010. She is originally from Perth and moved to Melbourne in 2007 for her sister’s ballet career. Tema has previously studied part of a nursing degree, which she plans to continue in the near future. She has previously worked in a variety of professions, from hospitality to child care.
Tema has a very friendly personality and loves to meet new people. She enjoys going to the beach, eating cake, going to the gym and doing lots of shopping! |
