Our intensive Pilates workout program are tailored to help you achieve your goals by using Pilates equipment such as the Pilates Reformer, Pilates Trapeze Table, Pilates Chair, as well as incorporating Pilates floor work into the session. You'll receive constant supervision and guidance from your Physiotherapist. To start your Pilates routine, please contact our clinic to arrange a pre-class free assessment. We provide both private Pilates and Semi- Private (2-5ppl) Pilates sessions.

Mums In Motion™ classes aim to maintain and improve aerobic fitness and strengthen muscle groups affected by pregnancy, such as the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. They also include education on such things as back care, posture, and relaxation. Mums In Motion™ caters for all stages of pregnancy. This class involves Pilates and Cardio exercises aimed to maintain and improve aerobic fitness and strengthen muscle groups affected by pregnancy, such as the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. They also include education on such things as back care and posture.

MUMS AND BUBS - CLASS

Our Mums & Bubs™ classes are always lively as they are designed specifically for the needs of the new mother and her young child.  In addition to improving generalized strength and flexibility, core stability, pelvic floor tone and fitness, exercising with your baby can be a bonding experience and provides movement experience that helps your baby’s development. It’s also a great way to meet new mums and get physiotherapy advice on common post-natal problems and lifting techniques.

    Stephanie Aalders - Receptionist

    Steph has grown up in the western suburbs and is 5th of 7 children. She is currently undertaking her 3rd year at Victoria University studying exercise science, working towards a career in the rehabilitation field.

    Through her studies Steph is fortunate enough to be involved in the TAC cup testing of the under 18’s football players. She has worked in retail for the past 6 years gaining considerable lifetime attributes. She enjoys many sports like athletics and tennis and is currently involved in yoga.

  • Bobby Yang - Clinical Sports Supervisor (Physiotherapist)

    Bobby Yang - Clinical Sports Supervisor (Physiotherapist)

    Bobby graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and has since dedicated his career to the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries since. He has a strong interest in managing clients with sport-specific injuries, especially in the field of AFL and basketball. He is also experienced in taking the athletes’ performance to the next level via training within a gym setting.

    Bobby recently completed his Masters degree from the University of Melbourne and specialises in advanced diagnosis of complex musculoskeletal injuries. He is currently a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and an accredited practitioner in the McKenzie’s method for managing spinal injuries.

    In his spare time, Bobby enjoys outdoor activities such as basketball, ultimate Frisbee, the occasional online gaming and eating around the Flemington area.

  • Max Dunn - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Max Dunn - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Max completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree at La Trobe University. Through his clinical experiences, Max has developed particular interests in sports and vertebral injuries. He is driven to achieve progress with patients through exercise, and finds patient progress during rehabilitation highly rewarding.
    Max worked throughout University at his local football club assisting with injury management and rehabilitation. He is passionate about sports, particularly AFL football, basketball and athletics. He is also interested in ergonomics and how different occupations can affect the wellbeing of the human body.
    When he’s not working or playing his favorite sports, Max enjoys playing electric guitar, discussing politics and relaxing over a few beers.

  • Diane Alvis - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Diane Alvis - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Diane completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree at the University of Melbourne. Throughout her training, she has had experience in both the hospital and private practice settings. She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, as well as Clinical Pilates.

    Diane also has completed a course in dry needling to enhance her treatment of musculoskeletal problems. She is currently a member of the Musculoskeletal Group in the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

    She smiles the most is seeing her clients recover and engaging back into their active lifestyles once again.

    During her free time, Dianne enjoys playing the piano, catching up with her friends and participating in local fun runs in Australia.

    Kim Nguyen - Practice Director

    In August 2007, Kim embarked on an enriching journey as Principal Physiotherapist of Back In Motion Ascot Vale. Kim currently leads a fantastic team of staff who are all dedicated in assisting clients to achieve sustainable results.

    She is experienced in Pilates and women’s health and has a particular interest in sports injuries. She endeavours for Back In Motion Ascot Vale to be widely recognised for its commitment to its clients. 

  • Kelly Pang - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Kelly Pang - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Kelly is a graduated physiotherapist from the University of Melbourne. Through her clinical training, she has developed an interest in musculoskeletal injuries, clinical Pilates and women’s health. She had made quite a name for herself as a physiotherapist in the Moonee Ponds region.

    Kelly loves helping her clients to achieve their goals and move with greater ease and comfort. Kelly also believes in a holistic approach and continues to extend her skills via courses including dry needling and clinical Pilates.

    When not working, she enjoys cooking, going to movies, listening to music and going to the gym for fitness!

  • Raymond Cheung - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Raymond Cheung - Clinical Associate (Physiotherapist)

    Raymond was born, raised and educated in Sydney. Upon graduating, he immediately moved to Melbourne, prompted by his desire to join our growing Back In Motion team.
    Raymond is passionate for all aspects of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and specialises in TMJ Disorders, commonly known as jaw pain. He has also developed a keen interest in the management of shoulder, knee, and lower back conditions. Raymond enjoys helping patients achieve desired outcomes and employs a range of therapeutic techniques to maintain clientele in a state of physical well-being.
    He believes that the patient should always have an understanding of their condition and his philosophy is centered on patient education to attain long lasting results.
    Outside of work, Raymond is an avid chess player, enjoys watching thriller films, and lives a very active lifestyle consisting of running, cycling and basketball.

    Lan Chu - Practice Manager

    Lan joined the Back In Motion Ascot Vale team in August 2007 and has witnessed the clinic prospering over the years. Since graduating from Maroondah Secondary College in 2003, Lan has worked in hospitality and retail.

    Through her experiences, Lan developed great customer service skills and enjoyed working and socializing with her customers. She hopes to lead a team of administrative staff as Back In Motion Ascot Vale continues its journey to become significant in its community.

  • Steven Nguyen - Receptionist

    Steven Nguyen - Receptionist

    Steven is the youngest of four in the Nguyen clan and is also the youngest member of our Ascot Vale family! He completed his VCE in 2010 and is now attending LaTrobe University, studying the Bachelor of Biomedical Science. Steven hopes to work as a physiotherapist for the Essendon football club in the future.

    In his spare time, he enjoys socialising with friends and family, watching movies, playing tennis and golf, partying and going on long walks.
