Our intensive Pilates workout program are tailored to help you achieve your goals by using Pilates equipment such as the Pilates Reformer, Pilates Trapeze Table, Pilates Chair, as well as incorporating Pilates floor work into the session. You'll receive constant supervision and guidance from your Physiotherapist. To start your Pilates routine, please contact our clinic to arrange a pre-class free assessment. Mums In Motion™ classes aim to maintain and improve aerobic fitness and strengthen muscle groups affected by pregnancy, such as the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. They also include education on such things as back care, posture, and relaxation. Mums In Motion™ caters for all stages of pregnancy. This class involves Pilates and Cardio exercises aimed to maintain and improve aerobic fitness and strengthen muscle groups affected by pregnancy, such as the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. They also include education on such things as back care and posture.

MUM AND BUBS CLASS

 

Our Mums & Bubs™ classes are always lively as they are designed specifically for the needs of the new mother and her young child.  In addition to improving generalized strength and flexibility, core stability, pelvic floor tone and fitness, exercising with your baby can be a bonding experience and provides movement experience that helps your baby’s development.   • Kim Nguyen - Practice Director

    Kim Nguyen - Practice Director

    In August 2007, Kim embarked on an enriching journey as Principal Physiotherapist of Back In Motion Ascot Vale. Kim currently leads a fantastic team of staff who are all dedicated in assisting clients to achieve sustainable results.

    She is experienced in Pilates and women’s health and has a particular interest in sports injuries. She endeavours for Back In Motion Ascot Vale to be widely recognised for its commitment to its clients. 

  • Bobby Yang - Practice Director and Clinical Services Coordinator

    Bobby Yang - Practice Director and Clinical Services Coordinator

    - Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Otago), Masters of Physiotherapy (Melbourne Uni)

    Bobby graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and has since dedicated his career to the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries since. He has a strong interest in managing clients with sport-specific injuries, especially in the field of AFL and basketball. He is also experienced in taking the athletes’ performance to the next level via training within a gym setting.

    Bobby recently completed his Masters degree from the University of Melbourne and specialises in advanced diagnosis of complex musculoskeletal injuries. He is currently a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and an accredited practitioner in the McKenzie’s method for managing spinal injuries.

    In his spare time, Bobby enjoys outdoor activities such as basketball, ultimate Frisbee, the occasional online gaming and eating around the Flemington area.

    Diane completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree at the University of Melbourne. Throughout her training, she has had experience in both the hospital and private practice settings. She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, as well as Clinical Pilates.

    Diane also has completed a course in dry needling to enhance her treatment of musculoskeletal problems. She is currently a member of the Musculoskeletal Group in the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

    What makes her smile is seeing her clients recover and engaging back into their active lifestyles.

    During her free time, Diane enjoys playing the piano, catching up with her friends and participating in local fun runs in Australia.
    Diane is currently pursuing her Masters of Physiotherapy (Musculosketal)at Melbourne Uni.

    Kelly is a graduated physiotherapist from the University of Melbourne. Through her clinical training, she has developed an interest in musculoskeletal injuries, clinical Pilates and women’s health. She had made quite a name for herself as a physiotherapist in the Moonee Ponds and flemington region.

    Kelly loves helping her clients to achieve their goals and move with greater ease and comfort. Kelly also believes in a holistic approach and continues to extend her skills via courses including dry needling and clinical Pilates.

    When not working, she enjoys cooking, going to movies, listening to music and going to the gym for fitness!

    Bernadette enjoys seeing her patients return to sports and activities of daily living with greater ease and comfort.
    She is currently a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Outside of work Bernadette enjoys exploring Melbourne, socialising with friends, and running to maintain fitness.

    Brodie Graduated from La Trobe with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy practice degree. He has grown up playing a number of sports such as indoor cricket and netball but spends most of his time playing basketball.
    Brodie developed an interest in physiotherapy throughout his childhood as a patient and loved the vast knowledge a Physiotherapist could deliver to recovering patients. “As a patient for Back In Motion for a number of years, I have loved the holistic approach and patient centred focus that our clinic pursues”.
    In his spare time Brodie enjoys exercising outdoors, gym and socialising with friends, and has developed a great passion in returning the population to their sport or activities of daily living.

    Chris joined the Back In Motion Team in early 2013 after graduating from Latrobe University and is a current APA member. He has a background in tennis coaching, currently plays competitive tennis and loves to talk about all things sport. These interests have lead Chris to pursue a career at Back In Motion with a particular focus on Musculoskeletal and Sports Rehabilitation. He would love to help you achieve your goals and give you the skills to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

    Lan Chu - Practice Manager

    Lan joined the Back In Motion Ascot Vale team in August 2007 and has witnessed the clinic prospering over the years. Since graduating from Maroondah Secondary College in 2003, Lan has worked in hospitality and retail.

    Through her experiences, Lan developed great customer service skills and enjoyed working and socializing with her customers. She hopes to lead a team of administrative staff as Back In Motion Ascot Vale continues its journey to become significant in its community.

    Steven is the youngest of four in the Nguyen clan and is also the youngest member of our Ascot Vale family! He completed his VCE in 2010 and is now attending LaTrobe University, studying the Bachelor of Biomedical Science. Steven hopes to work as a physiotherapist for the Essendon football club in the future.

    In his spare time, he enjoys socialising with friends and family, watching movies, playing tennis and golf, partying and going on long walks.

    Laura joined the Back In Motion administration team in 2012 after previously working in hospitality and is currently studying at the University of Melbourne after graduating in 2009. After she completes her studies, Laura hopes to travel around the world and embark on many exciting adventures!
    Laura is very excited to join the team at Ascot Vale and is loving getting to know the amazing client base. In her spare time she loves to go out with friends, watch movies, hit the gym and attend music festivals.

    Gloria is our part-time receptionist who joined the team last August. She mainly works in the weekends from while working full-time as a Structural Engineer. She enjoys meeting the clients and can always be found with a ready smile on her face. She loves all sports and shares a strong passion in Badminton, Zumba (R) Fitness and the NBA.

    With her busy lifestyle, she enjoys her down time with a good book to read and putting her culinary skills to the test.
