Additional services

Take advantage of our exclusove FREE INITIAL ASSESSMENT and have an expert physiotherapist take a throrough history and then perform the appropriate physical examination to provide you with the right diagnosis. Your physiotherapist can then provide you with the best plan to treat your condition. Physiotherapy treament sessions comprising manual therapy, muscle retraining, home exercise prescription and appropriate education regarding temporary activity modification may well be part of the management plan for your condition.

Feeling a little tired or stressed? Why not book yourself in for a Back In Motion massage with a difference - that difference being that all massages are delivered by highly qualified physiotherapists. Our team employ a range of techniques: Myofascial Release, Remedial, Trigger Point Release to loosen your tight muscles. Or you can request a more gentle "relaxation" massage to wind you down.

BIM Camberwell has a large pilates program. All pilates clients undergo an initial assessment where a thorough history & testing are done, enabling your physiotherapist to tailor a pilates program to meet your individual needs. Clients can then choose to do their pilates sessions 1 on 1, or in small groups (Sem-private), both under the supervision of our expert physiotherapists.

Women's Health:

A number of our physiotherapists have experience in dealing with the musculoskeltal issues that are unique to the pre and post natal woman. From back pain to pelvic floor weakness, we can thoroughly assess and expertly manage whatever changes your body has undergone.

Our Gaitscan system allows our physios to more accurately assess foot function and biomechanical efficiency. This is important for a range of potential back and lower limb conditions we see. The quantative data from the scanning equipment than allows us to provide the most appropraite advice regarding orthotic management if that is required. We can supply both prefabricated (off the shelf) and customised orthtiocs.

Running Technique Screening:

We are very excited about our new Running Screening Tool to optimise the running technique of our clients (an often important contributing factor for a number of back and lower limb conditions). An expert physiotherapist will undertake a series and muscle length and strength tests, joint range of motion tests, and slow motion video footage on our treadmill to help you to optimise your running technique - for BOTH injury prevention and improved performance.

Pre-Pointe Dance Screening:

We have also been utilising a tool to assess the readiness of young ballet dancers to go en pointe. Your expert physiotherapist will undertake a series of dance specific tests to assess whether your are now ready to safely move en pointe.

Semi-Private Pilates (SMPL)

Our Semi Private Pilates classes allow clients to undertake their tailored pilates programs within a group environment, in a more cost effective way. Each client does undergo an individual assessment, which then enables their physiotherapist to tailor a pilates regime to target their specific deficiencies. Clients then have a couple of 1 on 1 pilates sessions with their physio to get a grasp of their program, before joining a class. A range of equipment is utilised: Reformers, Rollers, Balls, Weights etc. All SMPL classes are capped at 6 people, enabling the supervising physiotherapist to correct your technique and progress your exercises as you improve.

Pregnancy (Pre & Post natal) Pilates

Our pregnant clients (pre or post) go through the same process in the form of an individual assessment prior to joining SMPL classes. There are some pre and post pregnant considerations that need to be taken into account when designing the tailored pilates program. Our pregnancy clients are then invited to join any of our SMPL classes - giving them a much greater variety of class times to fit in with their other commitments.
