HAPPY NEW YEAR

Published: December 31, 2020

We wanted to wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And while it is unlikely that things in the world will drastically change at 12:01am tonight, there are some things that you can do to try and get the new year off to a good start. Some people call them resolutions - many people start with good intentions, however drop off after a couple of weeks. But, after 2020 - now is the time to be a healthier version of you and get the most out of life.

Here is a quick simple list of things to focus on each and every day:

- Prioritise! That sounds simple - and often appears in lists. But, we want you to prioritise what is most important for you. Is that family? Is that exercise? Is that friends? Is that sleep? Is that money? Is that a new car? Think about what is most important - and that is the key driver that you should prioritise all of your decisions around for 2021. Anything else is secondary to the main goal.

- Sleep! Get some sleep! The recommended adult sleep per night is 8 hours of good quality sleep. 2021 might be the time to look into a pillow, or a mattress, or to switch off those devices in the hour leading up to your sleep time. Sleep is important for lots of body functions, and a lack of sleep can result in more injury and illness.

- Exercise! The World Health Organisation recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise on most days in the week (5 days at least), with 2 strength sessions. This is associated with a greater quality of life and a longer life compared with more sedentary individuals. With many people working from home, the routine is now bed, breakfast, chair, lunch, chair, dinner, couch, bed. Get outside, exercise with friends, pick something that you like!

- Address issues! If you haven't had that GP check up - do it! If you feel a niggle, get it attended to! We see far too many people who leave things too long and as a result, their recovery is hampered and delayed. The best way to keep doing what you love is to seek help, do your rehab and get back to it!

Have a fantastic new year everyone and take care leading into 2021! If you do need us, we are open through out the holiday period (and will be only closed on New Year's Day). Please feel free to call us on 95801985 or book online.
