TELEHEALTH

We have launched Telehealth, a Physio online service to provide Physiotherapy consultations over video chat.

Even before the impact of COVID-19, there has been a growing consumer demand for access to video-consultation services provided by Physiotherapists. Given the COVID-19 virus’ impact, we are discounting our standard fees for Telehealth appointments to ensure our clients don’t fall behind in their treatment.

To access this service, you will simply need a computer or smart device with an internet connection and camera. We will send you a text message with a secure ID login and access to a private video consultation with your preferred Physio. We’re here to help you on your journey to recovery to get you moving again, whether that be in a practice, or via video if you can’t get to a practice.

How To Book:

  • 1. Simply call Back In Motion Balwyn on (03) 9836 1126
  • 2. Book in a time for your consultation which can be short, medium or long depending on your situation.
  • 3. Once you have made your booking, payment can be made over the phone.
  • 4. You will be provided with a unique meeting ID. At your allocated appointment time, enter this ID into the field below.

  • 5. Click 'Join Consultation' to be connected to your Physio.

Tip: Don't forget to check your video and microphone are working prior to your appointment to ensure a smooth consultation.

Our Practice

Who we are

We provide physiotherapy, massage, Clinical Exercise, and exercise and rehab to Balwyn and surrounding suburbs. We have one-on-one and semi-private classes and because our services are delivered by physiotherapists you can claim them on private health insurance with extras cover.

Why we're different

A "quick-fix" for your pain or injury might sound good, but over time is proven to be inconvenient, costly and ineffective in comparison to taking preventative measures. Our unique clinical approach, Results4Life, keeps you on track towards optimal lifelong physical health.

Our guarantee

We are committed to your satisfaction and delivering the very best in physiotherapy care, customer service and outcomes. If you are not 100% satisfied with your experience at Back In Motion, we will refund your money on you last session and deliver your next session free.

Our Service Offering

Clinical Exercise

Whether you’re wanting to improve your flexibility, core strength or your posture, Back In Motion offers Clinical Exercise and reformer Pilates facilitated by qualified physios.

Many gyms and exercise studios offer Clinical Exercise these days, but few places offer personalised and tailored programs to help you recover, achieve your goals sooner and help stay injury-free.

Why should I do Clinical Exercise & Pilates at Back In Motion?

Our qualified physios supervise you during class to offer you a safe and effective program.

When you do Clinical Exercise with us, you’re in a smaller class with an individual program designed just for you – so you’ll progress faster and are less likely to get injured.

What equipment is available at Back In Motion?

We offer a range of specialised Pilates equipment, including reformers, trapeze tables and floor-based exercises to help you progress and achieve your health and fitness goals.

Who will benefit the most out of Clinical Exercise & Pilates?

Clinical Exercise can benefit everyone – from the elite athlete wanting to improve their core strength, to a beginner seeking to improve their flexibility and muscle strength.

We recommend all of our Back In Motion clients try Clinical Exercise at least once. Once you see the results and feel the benefits, you'll be hooked!

What are the health benefits of Clinical Exercise & Pilates?

The health benefits of Clinical Exercise include improved flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, core stability, improved balance, spine stabilisation and improved posture.

Remedial Massage

Whether you’re wanting to loosen tight muscles, soothe your body or simply relax, Back In Motion offers a range of massage services.

There are many places that offer massage these days, but few offer highly-qualified and trained physios with extensive knowledge of the human body to help your body heal.

Why should I have a remedial massage at Back In Motion?

We take a tailored approach, targeting key areas of your body chosen by you and your physio and it’ll be completed in a safe and professional environment.

Our highly-experienced physios have spent more than four years at university learning about human anatomy and biomechanics. We know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

What remedial massage services are offered at Back In Motion?

We offer a range of massage services including remedial massage, sports therapy massage and deep tissue massage, so you can benefit from qualified physios and their extensive knowledge of the human body.

What are the benefits of regular remedial massage?

Massage is beneficial to the body in many ways, both physically (tissue manipulation) and emotionally (relaxation). A regular massage can provide check ups with your physio, treat niggles, prevent new injuries/pain and help with maintenance.

Sporting clubs, athletes, and massage devotees see our expert physios and therapists for a reason: because we know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains, and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

Exercise and Rehab

Whether you have lower back pain, neck pain or a shoulder injury, exercise rehabilitation can help. Our exercise programs can help with increasing fitness, weight loss, injury rehabilitation, endurance training or strengthening, in a safe way that minimises risk of injury.

Our qualified staff use the latest clinical research and physio equipment to develop a personal exercise plan to help you improve flexibility, mobility, and strength.

Physiotherapy

Whether you have back pain, neck pain, flexibility or mobility issues, our physios at Back In Motion can help resolve your pain and improve the quality of your life.

Find out why physiotherapy is a GP's most recommended health professional today.

What can Back In Motion physio do for me?

We'll use the latest clinical research and physio equipment to develop a personal treatment plan to help you recover for your specific condition.

You don’t need a GP's referral to see a physio, and often we'll work as part of a team to plan and manage treatment for your specific condition or injury.

How will a Back In Motion physio assess my injury?

We'll assess your condition to diagnose the problem and focus on how to help you heal with tangible tools like Results4Life®

What sort of treatments do Back In Motion physios use?

- Exercise prescription

Nick

Physiotherapist

Why did you become a physio?
After a very brief interaction with accounting in high school I realised crunching numbers was not my cup of tea and that being in healthcare was my passion.
Being very active when I was younger meant many visits to the physio. It was during these visits that I realised that lifelong relationships between a
physiotherapist and their clients are forged and was the reason I became a physio.
Assisting and guiding someone along their journey to optimal health is something I find extremely rewarding!

Qualifications:
Nick completed his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne.

Areas of Interest:

Phyllis

Psychotherapist

Phyllis

Psychotherapist

Youth, Family, and Individual Trauma Specialist

At the core of Phyllis’ work is a perspective that considers the human condition as inextricably connected to their context. Behavior is considered via a nervous system perspective derived from the latest research in neuroscience. It posits that behavior is a person’s best attempt to keep safe, to protect themselves and reduce pain.

Clients, both individual, parents, families and organizations, would reflect that their work with Phyllis values inclusiveness, reciprocity, attunement, grounding, relational safety, and genuine care. Phyllis offers support to the whole system the individual, or organization, is in connection with, rather than in isolation. This is where the gestalt premise of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” comes alive. The entirety of the person, or organizational context, is the ground from which experience and behavior emerges. Therefore, we respond to the entirety of the system which supports connection, regulation, healing, and growth.

Deepening individual or organizational self/ other awareness, from an interoceptive and regulating stance, enables relational safety, emotion regulation, healing and in turn growth. This fosters space and capacity for connection to self needs. Self-care is about recognizing when we have a need and noticing what we do to attend to it or not, and the impact of our responses. At the heart of individual self-care is awareness of, and capacity to adjust, our boundary setting patterns when required; capacity to engage resources and bring the systems into self-regulation.

Phyllis is co-founder of Restoring Resilience (RR) training organization that aims to teach and empower individuals and communities to treat and resolve stress, overwhelm and trauma.

The support does not end in her counselling room. Clients can expand their support and learning via her suite of RR workshops. RR continues to be a vehicle for delivering training that touches the soul; that makes a difference in people’s lives. Fostering connection, growth, and healing for those in need by offering a unique lens on how to read behaviour and specialized skills to respond. Our aim is to continue to support individuals, families, and organizations to connect within their systems by helping deepen understanding of self in relationship to other; how to strengthen relational safety and foster good health and wellbeing. Continuing to psychoeducate individuals, parents, practitioners who work with kids, schools to support quality connection within families, with the intention to protect youth mental health and foster wellbeing.

Phyllis has a is a gestalt psychotherapist, somatic experiencing global training assistant, workshop developer and facilitator, clinical supervisor. Phyllis’ work with youth in high schools has been published in the book “Brain changing strategies to trauma proof” our schools by Maggie Kline (2020).

Phyllis loves spending time with her family, friends, and walking Oscar, her dog, reading, writing and singing.
