Back In Motion Rosny Park directors Belinda Jefferies, Evan Clayton, Debbie Crawford and Peter Eckhardt are pleased about the opportunity to aid more Tasmanians on their way to lifelong optimal physical health.

“We are really excited about having our Eastern Shore practice in Rosny Park open. We’ve been receiving great comments from the local community about how fantastic it is to have us open in the area, offering an extensive range of services including physiotherapy, Clinical Exercise, massage, personal training and more” said Belinda. “Our product display window has been generating a lot of interest and we hope to continue to offer a diverse range of products to keep the passing foot traffic coming in and making enquiries.”

Principal Physiotherapist, Evan is the physio for the Olympia Soccer Club. He said “now being located less than five minutes from their home ground, it is a great opportunity to further engage with the broader state soccer community”. As a keen golfer, Evan is also looking forward to helping out more of his fellow golfers particularly those suffering shoulder and back injuries and niggles to get back to health and improve their game.

The practice is situated in a prime location – close to the main Eastlands shopping centre in the midst of busy central Rosny Park. With the director’s living locally, they have strong connections with the local community. A total of five consult rooms and spacious gym, the practice has capacity to service many clients.

Below, learn about two of Back In Motion's newest Directors and their motivations for joining the Group:

Belinda holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Tasmania, Diploma of Financial Planning (Deakin Uni) and Diploma of Business Marketing (Aust Institute of Management). She spent eight years as a Stockbroker after leaving uni and was a partner in the firm.  Belinda then went on to manage an independent bookshop and then Medibank Private's Hobart Retail Centre, before returning to the financial planning industry as a Marketing Manager.

Belinda is proud to be the first and only female director of Cricket Tasmania and became interested in the allied health industry after her and her husband sold their Jim's Mowing franchise and began were looking for alternative business opportunities. Health and wellbeing is extremely important to Belinda and she sees it as a major growth industry.

Beginning her time with Back In Motion Hobart on Murray in 2013 as Senior Receptionist, Belinda had the long term view of being involved in the expansion of Back in Motion in Tasmania. Having owned and operated a franchise before, she loved the business model and the benefits that being in a large group brings, particularly with business mentoring and support systems.

Belinda is a member of a bushwalking club and can be often found on mountain tops around Tasmania.

Evan, originally from New Zealand, graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Physical Education in 2008. In 2012 he completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Auckland University of Technology. Evan’s motivation to become a physio was mainly due to his own experience attending physios for multiple and various injuries. Nowadays, Evan thoroughly enjoys working with athletes and helping them get back out on the field and improve their performance. He has worked with various sporting teams and individuals and is currently working closely with Olympia Soccer Club.

Evan and his wife (originally from Tasmania) decided to make the move over to Tassie after he graduated from the physio degree in NZ. Completing research into potential places of employment, Evan came across Back In Motion Hobart on Murray (at the time known as SportsCare) and after looking into both Peter and Debbie's background, he decided that that was the place for him to commence his private practice physio career. He applied for a job during his final year of university just as SportsCare was transferring over to the Back In Motion model, commencing employment March 2013.

In August 2013, the opportunity arose for Evan to join Peter and Debbie in opening a new practice on the Eastern Shore of Hobart. Evan had always wanted to start up his own practice but didn't think it would happen as soon as it has, the opportunity was too good to pass up. Evan says that it has been an interesting journey from deciding to join the Group as a director and starting up a practice. He thanks Peter, Debbie and Belinda for their support and sharing their knowledge and experience with him.

Evan sees the benefits of being a part of the Back In Motion Health Group as gaining immense support not only from the National Support Office but the other practices and directors. This became very apparent when he attended Back U (new Director training). Evan is thankful that people in the Group are more than willing to share ideas and experiences and that there is a strong community feel amongst his peers. “I am really looking forward to contributing to the Group going into the future being a director of Back In Motion Hobart on Murray” said Evan.
