Back In Motion Cranbourne

Back In Motion, Cranbourne was originally founded in 2009 by Dr. Andrew Arnold and Dr. Linda Wilson as Cranbourne Family Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. Together our team has over 100 years of combined experience and whilst treatments for back and neck pain are a major focus, our team of practitioners has also evolved to ensure we provide a multi-faceted approach for those in pain.

Our vision is to provide excellent healthcare services, serving our clients with integrity within a trusted, friendly environment.

We provide professional access to allied health, resources, health education, and clinical exercise. Our team includes Chiropractors, Clinical Remedial Massage therapists, Myotherapists, Physiotherapists, and Osteopaths. We take pride in our ability to serve our community and build trust, confidence, and friendships.

What began as a clinic, focused mainly on Chiropractic care, has expanded to a center with a variety of complementary health practices – all of which are designed to provide relief from pain and promote long-term health and wellbeing.

Welcome to Back In Motion Cranbourne

Our Practice

Who we are

We started out as Cranbourne Family Chiropractic and Wellness center over 25 years ago. In recent years we joined the well-established health group, Back In Motion. We provide the following services: Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Myotherapy, Remedial Massage and Clinical Exercise.

Why we're different

The biggest predictor of an injury is a previous injury. A "quick-fix" might sound good, but over time it's proven to be inconvenient, costly and ineffective compared to taking long-term preventative measures. Our Results4Life philosophy, keeps you on track towards optimal lifelong physical health.

Our guarantee

We are committed to delivering the best in Allied health, customer service and clinical outcomes. If you are not 100% thrilled with your experience, we will refund your money on your last session and deliver your next session free.

Our Service Offering

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care is a great way to relieve acute back and neck pain, not to mention extremity related pain, musculoskeletal in origin. GPs often refer to chiropractors for spinal pain relief. However, Chiropractic care addresses your whole body and this may prevent further injury.

Myotherapy

Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy that is designed to treat pain and other related conditions.

Remedial Massage

Whether you’re wanting to loosen tight muscles, soothe your body or simply relax, Back In Motion offers a range of massage services.

There are many places that offer massage these days, but few offer highly-qualified and trained physios with extensive knowledge of the human body to help your body heal.

Why should I have a remedial massage at Back In Motion?

We take a tailored approach, targeting key areas of your body chosen by you and your physio and it’ll be completed in a safe and professional environment.

Our highly-experienced physios have spent more than four years at university learning about human anatomy and biomechanics. We know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

What remedial massage services are offered at Back In Motion?

We offer a range of massage services including remedial massage, sports therapy massage and deep tissue massage, so you can benefit from qualified physios and their extensive knowledge of the human body.

What are the benefits of regular remedial massage?

Massage is beneficial to the body in many ways, both physically (tissue manipulation) and emotionally (relaxation). A regular massage can provide check ups with your physio, treat niggles, prevent new injuries/pain and help with maintenance.

Sporting clubs, athletes, and massage devotees see our expert physios and therapists for a reason: because we know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains, and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

Clinical Exercise

Whether you’re wanting to improve your flexibility, core strength or your posture, Back In Motion offers Clinical Exercise and reformer Pilates facilitated by qualified physios.

Many gyms and exercise studios offer Clinical Exercise these days, but few places offer personalised and tailored programs to help you recover, achieve your goals sooner and help stay injury-free.

Why should I do Clinical Exercise & Pilates at Back In Motion?

Our qualified physios supervise you during class to offer you a safe and effective program.

When you do Clinical Exercise with us, you’re in a smaller class with an individual program designed just for you – so you’ll progress faster and are less likely to get injured.

What equipment is available at Back In Motion?

We offer a range of specialised Pilates equipment, including reformers, trapeze tables and floor-based exercises to help you progress and achieve your health and fitness goals.

Who will benefit the most out of Clinical Exercise & Pilates?

Clinical Exercise can benefit everyone – from the elite athlete wanting to improve their core strength, to a beginner seeking to improve their flexibility and muscle strength.

We recommend all of our Back In Motion clients try Clinical Exercise at least once. Once you see the results and feel the benefits, you'll be hooked!

What are the health benefits of Clinical Exercise & Pilates?

The health benefits of Clinical Exercise include improved flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, core stability, improved balance, spine stabilisation and improved posture.

Custom Orthotics

When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in the way you walk can cause a chain reaction that alters your posture and movement mechanics. The symptom of poor foot mechanics can include localised foot pain, bunions, arch or heel pain, leg or knee pain, hip or back pain – and even neck pain. Custom orthotics have been shown to correct these issues, giving you improved balance, posture, and general wellbeing.

Dry needling

Whether you have back pain, neck pain or other musculoskeletal injuries, dry needling with acupuncture needles can be an effective part of your treatment plan.

Dry needling can help reduce muscle tension and pain levels and trigger a healing response in injured tissues within the body. As opposed to acupuncture, dry needling works directly on the injured body part, not meridian or energy flows.

Women’s Health

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is aimed at women at any time of their lives. Our women’s health physios are specially trained at post-graduate level, meaning you will receive the best possible assessment and treatment whatever your concern.

The following conditions are treated by a women’s health physio.

Pre and Post-natal care: any symptoms associated with being pregnant such as back and pelvic pain as well as exercise therapy for safe activity in pregnancy. After you have had your baby we recommend a 6 weeks check with the physiotherapist where they can assess your abdominal muscles, pelvic floor muscles and breathing. This is also the time we can start you back to exercise and get you back to what you love doing!

Urinary and Faecal Incontinence: any leakage from your bladder or bowel can often be treated very successfully with the support of physiotherapy. This may include bladder and bowel training, pelvic floor strengthening, constipation management as well as fluid and dietary advice.

Pelvic organ Prolapse: anyone diagnosed with any type of pelvic organ prolapse should seek the support of a specially trained physiotherapist. Treatment is aimed at managing symptoms in the optimal way as well as getting you back to moving and exercising without the fear of making prolapse any worse. If you are having surgery it is still advisable to have physiotherapy pre and post op to ensure you recover as well as possible.

Pelvic pain: this can be pain anywhere in your pelvis, lower back or hips. Often there is a strong correlation between muscle coordination and strength and the pelvic floor muscles or the abdominal wall. Physiotherapy can help give the correct treatment and exercises. Pelvic pain can also refer to painful intercourse or simply vaginal pain, this too is ideally assessed and treated by a women’s health physiotherapist.

Not all conditions are treated with pelvic floor rehabilitation and exercises and everyone is individually assessed and a treatment plan formulated for them. Our women’s health physiotherapist is passionate about both the health of women and men and believes that anyone can overcome their pelvic health issues with the correct guidance and treatment. We want to empower both men and women so that their incontinence, prolapse or pelvic pain isn’t something they have to suffer with.

Linda is the Director of Back In Motion Cranbourne.
After graduating from a Bachelor of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture and completing a Grad Dip in Education (Health) Linda went into practice as an Acupuncturist for several years. Linda continued to search for tools that embraced the wisdom of TCM but also incorporated the best of the leading edge research into the brain and the way it works; simple and powerful tools for herself and her clients.

After discovering EFT / Tapping in 2004 and completing studies both from overseas and within Australia Linda now uses these techniques extensively in practice. These techniques can create dramatic shifts in people and the way they interact with themselves and others. Linda often hears from her clients that nothing has gotten to the root of their problems faster and they didn't have to suffer in the process!

Vin Chand

Musculo-skeletal therapist and Myotherapist

Vin's passion for all things health and fitness, and a subsequent career in the same industry, was apparent from a very early age due to a background in exercise and competitive sports.

A keen 'need to know' knowledge of the many wonderful mechanical processes of the human body led to a successful, and perfectly suited, career in personal training where his success stories were built around attention to detail, results based training and strong customer service.

It was these exact reasons and the extreme desire to give to his clients something that would holistically go above and beyond what they were already receiving which led to the completion of a 3 year Bachelors Degree in Health Science with a major in Musculoskeletal therapy and minor in Remedial Massage.

With a very sharp eye for detail and a precise working knowledge and understanding of the human body combined with the mantra 'treating you as the individual you are', Vin's sessions are targeted towards FIXING you from the inside out and guaranteed to be meticulously specific to your needs and goals with IMMEDIATE and long lasting results!
