UPDATE: 05 August lockdown

Published: August 17, 2021

UPDATE: 19/08/2021

We have received further instruction by our governing body, the Australian Physiotherapy Association on what the CAHO has amended the definition of urgent critical care to be and examples as follows:

Direct clinical care that prevents a significant change/deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care OR is required as an adjunct to other urgent medical/surgical interventions.
For example, urgent clinical care;

  • that avoids a potential hospital admission or emergency department presentation
  • that avoids serious acute consequences or acute deterioration
  • that presents/delays the need for further specialist medical or surgical intervention
  • that prevents an increase in care needs that would necessitate additional carer supports or change in accommodation needs
  • that limits secondary complications post-surgery
  • where deferral would lead to long term adverse consequences (i.e. delays to child development)

This means that we will be going through each appointment on a case-by-case basis. We will be in contact with you if your appointment will need to be moved to Telehealth or rescheduled until after lockdown ends on Thursday 2 September at 11.59pm.

We will also be working on reduced hours and may request a change in time and/or day for your upcoming appointments.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we work through each day in the diary.

Thank you all again for your ongoing support during this time. If you have any questions, please reach out to us on 9439 6776.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe and we look forward to seeing you in the clinic soon,
The team at Back In Motion Eltham

We are thinking of our valued clients and community as our lockdown extends.

The following will apply to us and will remain in place until 11.59pm on Thursday, 2 September – unless instructed otherwise by The Department of Health and Human Services Victoria:

We will be in contact with you if your appointment and/or class booking will need to be rescheduled as our Clinicians work through each patient, case by case. Our Clinicians will determine if your appointment is to be moved to Telehealth or postponed until after lockdown ends.

  • We’re open for Essential Clinical Care only*
  • We are working on reduced hours during the lockdown
  • Routine appointments are not available at this time
  • No group classes will run
  • Telehealth appointments available
  • Any new patients that fall under essential care can call and book an appointment
  • No Myotherapy appointments available

Rest assured, we are continuing to maintain strict social distancing and hygiene measures to protect the health of our clients and staff:

  • Cleaning beds and equipment after each use
  • Face masks are mandatory for all clients unless a medical exemption is provided
  • Hand sanitiser available around the practice for clients
  • All clients must scan the QR code to check in
  • Temperature check upon entry

If you have any symptoms, waiting for a test result, or potentially been in contact with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19, please do not attend the practice. Simply give us a call so we can re-schedule your appointment or organise a Telehealth appointment.

Thank you all for your ongoing support, patience, and understanding during this time. If you have any questions, please reach out to us on 9439 6776 or email us.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe,
The team at Back In Motion Eltham
