Understanding how our initial appointments work

Hello and welcome to Back in Motion, Mount Barker. We are excited that you have chosen our physiotherapy practice to help you achieve your goals to get better and stay better. This post will detail what a first appointment with one of our physios will include and how to make the most of it.

Where we are located:

We are located next to Dr Jones and Partners and Anytime Fitness, above the Mount Barker Central Shopping Centre. If you are parking in the main carpark, you will need to walk up the flight of stairs next to Priceline Pharmacy to find us. Alternatively, there is parking available on our level.

Arriving to your appointment:

It is recommended that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out a new patient form. A new patient form is important to our physiotherapists as it provides them with personal details, as well as information about your general health and goals.  Alternatively, these details can be filled in online prior.  Please ask our friendly support staff for further instructions on how to complete this.

What to bring:

If you happen to have private health insurance or a concessions/pension card, make sure you bring them along and show them to our support staff at the end of your appointment. If you have any scans or recent investigations (i.e. Xrays, CT Scans, MRI Scans, Ultrasounds), please bring them to your appointment. If you don’t have the scans available, don’t worry, we may be able to access them online if needed.

Our Free Initial Assessment:

For all our new patients or returning patients (not seen for 6 months or for a new injury), you are offered a Free Initial Assessment (20 minutes) to discuss what the problem is and how physiotherapy can help. Once the assessment is completed, the physiotherapist will discuss the findings and treatment recommendations. If further investigations are necessary, advice may be provided to seek other medical attention. If physiotherapy will help, you may proceed with treatment (20 minutes), which is a chargeable standard consultation.

*Terms and Conditions apply.

We are excited to welcome you to our practice and look forward to working with you to feel and stay better.
