Benefits on massage oils we provide

Published: January 24, 2020

While many people know about the massage services we offer here at Back in Motion, not many know about the different massage oils we use to help relieve muscle tension in the body. Each oil incorporates different combinations of special herbs, flowers and resins to achieve a specific physiological effect in the body. Below are the oils we use in our clinic:

Sports (Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Camphor, Pine and Wintergreen)

Calling all Nat Fyfe’s, Ash Barty’s and Daniel Ricciardo’s out there – if you’ve been feeling a bit tight and sore from your weekend activities, or your body just isn’t tolerating your sport like it used to, the Sports Oil is what you need to get you back on the horse (literally if you’re a jockey). This oil utilises wintergreen, camphor and pine to assist muscle recovery by warming and soothing muscles. The oil penetrates the muscles deeply to heat and relax the fibres following strenuous activity.

Relaxation (Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Lavender, Patchouli, Mandarin, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Geranium, Jojoba)

Stuck in traffic after a long and stressful day at work? Don’t go home! Swing past our practice to unwind all that tension. Our relaxation blend boasts a renowned selection of oils and herbs that are best at promoting a peaceful and relaxed state. It is mandatory to bring an alarm clock to these sessions as therapists have previously had difficulty rousing patients from their naps.

Joint Ease (Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Black Pepper, French Rosemary and Marjoram)

With more laps around the sun comes more random aches and pains sprouting all over your body. If you’re noticing pain, stiffness, tenderness or swelling in any of your joints, we recommend you come in for a massage with our ‘Joint Ease’ oil. This therapeutic blend incorporates ingredients from leading joint ease formulas including rosemary, pepper and marjoram.

Sleep Easy (Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Frankincense and Cedarwood)

We do not recommend this oil if you’re somebody who enjoys late night Netflix binges. Some say it is simply impossible to lose sleep following a massage using this oil. Lavender, frankincense, ylang ylang and cedarwood all combine to help you catch up on the sleep you may have been losing.

Calming (Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Orange, Bergamot, Patchouli, Thyme and Ylang Ylang)

If you’re a Fremantle Dockers supporter, you could probably do with a bit of this. The ingredients in this oil specialise in assisting the mind into a calm state. When paired with gentle massage, this blend consisting of bergamot, patchouli and sweet orange is perfect for reducing pent up stress and achieving calm. Not even looking at the outrageous free kick differential of the Eagles over the last couple of years can interfere with the effects of this oil.

Pregnancy (Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil)

Rich in proteins and vitamin D, this pure and soothing grape seed oil is known for its ability to soften and recondition the skin. It’s the perfect match for an expecting or new mum who may be experiencing normal pregnancy-related aches and pains.
