Published: August 13, 2020

Remedial Massage therapy is the assessment and treatment of dysfunction, muscular tension, and/or chronic pain. Remedial Massage forms a vital part of many rehabilitation programs alongside Physiotherapy as well as a stand alone treatment for muscle tightness and pain.

At Back In Motion, our Remedial Massages begin with history-taking, and an initial individualised physical assessment (including functional and range of motion testing) to determine the best treatment that is necessary to address your presenting problem. We recommend your initial session be a 60 minute booking to ensure you don’t feel rushed and get the most thorough and best treatment possible.

In provision of this treatment, our Remedial Massage Therapist will utilise a hands-on approach to alleviate any muscle tension and imbalance that may be contributing to your presenting issue. Our Remedial Massage Therapist utilises deep-tissue massage techniques, whilst also assessing the need for other techniques to assist in the treatment process (i.e. dry needling and modern cupping therapy). When you return for each following assessment, our Remedial Massage Therapist will re-assess your body to determine the effects of treatment, assisting to formulate a plan to help you to achieve your musculoskeletal health goals, and to improve your overall health and well-being.

Remedial Massage can have wonderful benefits. These benefits can be seen in the short and long term, with our Remedial Massage Therapist’s assessing the most appropriate frequency required to see you. Often treatment involves sessions more often initially and then spacing them out as your condition improves to a stage where you can maintain optimal movement and health. Your therapist can help formulate a plan to best suit your individual needs. This may be weekly, fortnight or monthly.

The benefits of Remedial Massage can include:
