The mental benefits of exercise

Exercises can make you feel better even if you’re okay, it still has a big impact on our mental health and of course physical health too.

Exercises releases endorphins and serotonin in our body, this will have a positive effect on our mood. It will reduce stress and mental health-related symptoms such as depression, anxiety, restlessness.
This is the reason why more and more doctors prescribe exercise as a mood-booster.

New research from the Department of Health published in October 2017, reported 12 percent of cases of depression could be prevented with an hour of exercise each week. Up your workouts to three a week and you could reduce your risk of depression by 30 percent.

Find your mood –booster:

Set yourself up for success, so start with a little walk a day, a stretch routine or if you like to be around people, go to a group class in the gym around the corner.  Anything from pilates to high-intensity training will have a great effect on your mood. Another good tip is to make it a non-negotiable, even if it is 10min a day, make sure you stay true to your routine. It only takes 21 days to make a routine your habit.
