Our Practice

Who we are

We provide physiotherapy, massage, clinical Pilates, and exercise and rehab to Woodville and surrounding suburbs. We have one-on-one and semi-private classes and because our services are delivered by physiotherapists you can claim them on private health insurance with extras cover.

Why we're different

A "quick-fix" for your pain or injury might sound good, but over time is proven to be inconvenient, costly and ineffective in comparison to taking preventative measures. Our unique clinical approach, Results4Life, keeps you on track towards optimal lifelong physical health.

Our guarantee

We are committed to your satisfaction and delivering the very best in physiotherapy care, customer service and outcomes. If you are not 100% satisfied with your experience at Back In Motion, we will refund your money and deliver your next session free.

Our Service Offering

done Physiotherapy

Quick-fixes or shortcuts are not something we strive for during your consultation. The swift management of your pain and symptoms is only the first step our team will take to help you achieve lasting results.

We believe in getting the right result the first time so you can get back to what you love without the threat of re-injury.

Our focus is not only on offering talented physiotherapists, but also delivering a great physiotherapy experience.

You will be surprised at all the physical health benefits that come with sticking to your personal treatment plan including improved flexibility, mobility and strength.

done Clinical Pilates

We offer individual and small group clinical Pilates classes taught by qualified professionals and physiotherapists. Unlike group classes at a gym, our approach to Pilates is clinically proven and specifically tailored to your needs. These tailored exercises target problem areas ensuring greater results and minimising the risk of injury re-aggravation.

You will use a combination of specialised Pilates equipment including reformers and trapeze table complimented by floor-based exercises depending on your needs. This brings about better targeting and resistance as you progress in your Pilates program.

done Massage

When you get a massage from a physiotherapist you are benefiting from four plus years of dedicated university study on the human body.

Sporting clubs, athletes, and massage devotees see our expert physios and therapists for a reason: because we know your body and can identify the causes of aches, pains, and soreness, ensuring a better result every time.

A massage conducted by our physios will see a reduction in your aches and pains, whether caused by sport, injury or the stresses and strains of everyday life.

done Exercise and Rehab

Whether you’re looking to increase your fitness or get back into exercise after time off or injury, an exercise and rehabilitation session will get you off to a good start.

Our physiotherapists can design programs to cater to your every need including weight loss, injury rehabilitation, fitness and endurance training as well as strengthening and toning.

Your physio knows your body and has the scientific and clinical knowledge to ensure your workout is both safe and caters to your abilities and previous injury history.

done Custom Orthotics

When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in the way you walk can cause a chain reaction that alters your posture and movement mechanics. The symptom of poor foot mechanics can include localised foot pain, bunions, arch or heel pain, leg or knee pain, hip or back pain – and even neck pain! Custom orthotics have been shown to correct these issues, giving you improved balance, posture, and general wellbeing.

done Vibration Therapy

We offer side-alternating, high-frequency vibration therapy technology. You can experience results not only as treatment for an existing concern but as a preventative measure for a diverse range of health issues including back pain, falls prevention, core strength, and elite performance.

done Aquatic Physiotherapy

Our hydrotherapy classes are ideal if you are going through injury rehabilitation or if you have long-term injuries. Our physios will guide you through gentle group and individually-tailored water-based exercises in the water with buoyancy devices as needed.

done Aged Care Physiotherapy

We provide a range of physiotherapy services for seniors and residencies in the community. We support aged care facilities, supported residential services, and retirement villages. We can also visit clients in the privacy of their own home.

Steve Rodda

Practice Director

Steve is the owner principal of Back In Motion Woodville. He has worked as a physio for over 30 years in the country and in the western suburbs of Adelaide, completing a Masters of Manipulative Therapy in 2001. He has taught at undergraduate level clinical placements and tutored in Electrotherapy at the UniSA up until recently.
Steve has a long history of involvement with sporting teams, especially soccer with SASI and also enjoys working with the various spinal conditions seen in general physio practices.
He continues to be excited about being a part of Back In Motion Group, with its emphasis on wellness strategies. He loves working with his energetic team of health professionals and staff to serve in the Woodville area.

Steve will tell you that this clinic is more than just the "average" physio clinic. We love getting people better, but more importantly keeping them better by addressing the underlying problems that might be causing the problem in the first place. After many years of being a physio he knows that this it the single MOST important factor to successful physio.

On weekends, look out for Steve and his wife Irma on their boat, he might even be showing that his old body can still ski!!

Clinical Supervisor

Michelle has recently been promoted to the senior position of "clinical supervisor" for our team at Back In Motion Woodville. We are very excited by this promotion and look forward to Michelle becoming an excellent leader assisting Steve in the clinical areas of the business.

Michelle has great skills as a clinician, researcher and teacher. Michelle loves dance, both performing and teaching it regularly, and so this gives her wonderful insight into what is required to keep moving well. She is an excellent Pilates instructor both for classes and one of one sessions, both as rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. Along with traditional physiotherapy and exercise, she has enjoyed implementing dry needling/acupuncture in her treatments and she has loved the benefit that this approach gives to clients.

Don't tell her but the boss is jealous of her neat sports car the Audi TT!!!
