Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) position statement on exercise in cancer care:

Clinical research has established exercise as a SAFE and EFFECTIVE intervention to counteract the adverse physical and psychological effects of cancer and its treatment.

Main Recommendations: COSA calls for:

  • Exercise to be embedded as a part of standard practice in cancer care and be viewed as an adjunct therapy that helps to counteract the adverse effects of cancer and its treatment

  • Best practice care to include referral to a physiotherapist with experience in cancer care and accredited exercise physiologist

Brendan and Kate are two of the few Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapists in Bayside. Brendan has training in male dominated cancer, Kate has training in female dominated cancer.
