What can Back In Motion physio do for me?

We'll use the latest clinical research and physio equipment to develop a personal treatment plan to help you recover for your specific condition.

You don’t need a GP's referral to see a physio, and often we'll work as part of a team to plan and manage treatment for your specific condition or injury.

How will a Back In Motion physio assess my injury?

We'll assess your condition to diagnose the problem and focus on how to help you heal with tangible tools like Results4Life®

We offer side-alternating, high frequency vibration therapy using a vibration platform. You can experience results not only as treatment for an existing health concern but as a preventative measure for a diverse range of health issues including back pain, falls prevention, core strength, and elite performance.

done Custom Orthotics

When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in the way you walk can cause a chain reaction that alters your posture and movement mechanics. The symptom of poor foot mechanics can include localised foot pain, bunions, arch or heel pain, leg or knee pain, hip or back pain – and even neck pain. Custom orthotics have been shown to correct these issues, giving you improved balance, posture, and general wellbeing.

done Mums In Motion

Prepare your body for the rigours of labour, improve your aerobic fitness, and reduce your recovery time in a fun, social atmosphere with other mums-to-be! Guided by your physio, this exercise class also includes education on back care, posture, and relaxation specific to pregnancy.

done Aquatic Physiotherapy

Our hydrotherapy classes are ideal if you are going through injury rehabilitation or if you have long-term injuries. Our physios will guide you through gentle group and individually-tailored water-based exercises in the water with buoyancy devices as needed.

After studying Sport & Exercise Science in Launceston and Physiotherapy in Sydney, Mat returned home in 2012 to the best state in our country and joined the Back In Motion. He has a passion for helping his clients achieve their goals, return to full function and prevent future injuries. Mat's love for physiotherapy grew over the years due to his past involvement in swimming and football (where he endured many injuries!). In his spare time he can be found playing footy, swimming or trying to avoid chocolate which he has a disturbing addiction to!

Minhaz completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) degree from Monash University in 2015. He has come up through the Back In Motion Accelerate Internship as a student, and has joined the Clayton clinic as of 2016. Minhaz’s love for physiotherapy came from a desire to be actively helping people in the community, as well having a connection with a sporting environment. Minhaz has extensive sporting involvement with previous experience at Victorian Premier District cricket club – Monash Hawthorn Cricket club and is currently playing and involved in State League Futsal. Minhaz has a particular interest in spines and shoulders, stemming from his sporting background. He has also spent some time with various local AFL and soccer teams. Aside from physiotherapy, Minhaz is passionate about travelling, food, family and Liverpool Football Club!

Christina completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree from the University of Melbourne and has recently joined the Back in Motion Clayton clinic. Originally, from Toronto, Canada, she always knew she wanted to go into healthcare because of her passion to care for others. Through her personal experiences from playing sports (swimming, softball, american football, street hockey), she experienced the need for physiotherapy firsthand and developed an interest for the practice. She eventually moved to Melbourne to pursue her career and has been enjoying every moment of it. For the past couple of years, she has been affiliated with an amateur football club in St. Kilda and has since fallen in love with the footy culture.
Aside from physiotherapy, she enjoys visiting the beach, jogging, keeping social and of course coffee!

Nick completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) degree from Monash University and joined the Back In Motion Health Group mid 2018. For Nick, his passion for physiotherapy developed naturally from a love of sport, exercise, and helping those around him. Nick thrives on empowering others to reach their goals and aims to make every session significant through his enthusiasm and poor quality humour.

When not throwing himself into his work and learning, Nick can be found playing football for a local AFL team, and training for his second marathon later this year.

Originally from China, Long moved to Australian 15 years ago and is fluent in Mandarin, allowing our local residents and Doctors assistance with treatment and bookings for our Mandarin speaking demographic.

After completing post graduate studies in Business Systems, Masters degree of IT and spending time raising her young son, she has re-joined the workforce with SOS Health Foundation to assist in general office administration, data management and technical support. SOS Health Foundation is the charity choice of Back In Motion. After 3 years working with SOS, she joined Back In Motion when looking for a career which involved helping people and making a difference which it certainly does.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and travelling, keeping fit through swimming and practicing Clinical Pilates!

Shona has completed a Bachelor of Human Movement at the University of Tasmania and has a Masters degree in Human Nutrition through Deakin University. Whilst working within the Corporate and Occupational Health Industry Shona began her relationship with Back In Motion as a Clinical Pilates client at her local practice. Now Practice Manager, Shona is enjoying meeting new patients, promoting services and assisting our Physiotherapists getting their patients back to optimal physical health.
