We provide physiotherapy, massage, clinical Pilates, and exercise and rehab to Patterson Lakes and surrounding suburbs. We have one-on-one and semi-private classes and because our services are delivered by physiotherapists you can claim them on private health insurance with extras cover.

What can Back In Motion physio do for me?

We'll use the latest clinical research and physio equipment to develop a personal treatment plan to help you recover for your specific condition.

You don’t need a GP's referral to see a physio, and often we'll work as part of a team to plan and manage treatment for your specific condition or injury.

How will a Back In Motion physio assess my injury?

We'll assess your condition to diagnose the problem and focus on how to help you heal with tangible tools like Results4Life®

What sort of treatments do Back In Motion physios use?

Treatments include massage/soft tissue mobilisation, muscle re-education, exercises, acupuncture, dry needling and crutches/wheelchairs if necessary.

Our physios have completed formal Pilates training, and supervise you during class to offer you a safe and effective program.

We offer side-alternating, high frequency vibration therapy using a vibration platform. When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in the way you walk can cause a chain reaction that alters your posture and movement mechanics. Prepare your body for the rigours of labour, improve your aerobic fitness, and reduce your recovery time in a fun, social atmosphere with other mums-to-be! Guided by your physio, this exercise class also includes education on back care, posture, and relaxation specific to pregnancy.

Practice Director

Eddie commenced as a Director in 2017, after having worked at the Hawthorn Football Club in 2010-13, including the 2013 Premiership year.  Prior to that, he was selected for the prestigious role of Post-Graduate Scholar at the Australian Institute of Sport in 2009-10.  At the AIS, he worked with athletes in Soccer, Netball, Kayaking, Skiing and numerous Olympic and Paralympic disciplines. It was during this time, that he developed a passion for working with youth and developing athletes, as well as completing his Masters in Sports Physio (Latrobe University).  These days, Eddie enjoys ocean swimming, surfing, representing the mighty Carrum Cowboys & spending time with his daughter Elsie. He looks forward to serving the Patterson Lakes community and surrounding areas, and is excited to share what he has learnt from working with some of Australia's finest athletes.

Kate graduated from Monash University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons), before joining the team in 2016 and completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2011. She has a passion for sports related injuries and exercise based rehabilitation, and has a special interest in women’s health and pre- and post-natal rehabilitation. She has worked with a range of sporting teams including Eastern Ranges FC, Box Hill Hawks FC and Frankston Dolphins FC and spent time with the Australian Ballet Company. In 2017, Kate was awarded the position of team physiotherapist at Box Hill Hawks for their inaugural VFL Women’s team. Away from work Kate enjoys spending time outdoors and camping, and trying adventurous new foods and restaurants around Melbourne.

Dan graduated from ACU (Brisbane) and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, then commenced at Back In Motion Patterson Lakes in the second half of 2017. Dan has had a number of years in private practice in Melbourne, as well as being involved in the Australian Ski Fields as a Physiotherapist (Mt Buller during the winter season). Dan is also a member of the OWIA (Olympic Winter Institute of Australia) medical team network, and is hoping to be involved with future World Cup and Winter Olympic/Paralympic Teams. Dan has a large passion for sports related injuries, particularly snow related. Unfortunately, Dan has suffered two significant sports related knee injuries which have resulted in complete knee reconstructions to both his knees. One of which recently in January 2017 in Val Thorens (France), competing on the Europa Cup Ski Cross tour. However, through the tough surgeries and rehabilitation, Dan has been able to use what he’s learned as a patient to help others going through similar rehabilitative situations. Dan also commenced his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in 2018.

Anna joined the Back in Motion Patterson Lakes team in Feb 2017 after making the big move from the country. Originally from the Victorian Alps, Anna competed as an elite cross country skier for 9 years before retiring in 2015. She represented Australia at the world championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy (2013) and in Falun, Sweden (2015). Now she spends her time outside work running and cycling with her wonder border collie, Jasper.

With a big passion for sport and a background in high level competition Anna focuses on active rehabilitation and exercise therapy to help her clients eliminate pain, prevent injury and enhance performance. Her special physiotherapy interests include: running assessments, injury prevention screening and Pilates.

Jessie originally worked at the clinic for around 5 years in the early 2000s when the clinic first opened. She moved onto other pursuits for approximately 7 years and has recently returned as Practice Manager in March 2018.

Jessie's family have lived in the Carrum/Patterson Lakes area for over 90 years. So it is fair to say she is definitely a local!! She was a Sports Trainer for the Bonbeach Sharks and the Carrum Cowboys Football Clubs for 12 years, and also represented the Big V at the Super Rules National Carnival as a Sports Trainer for the Victorian Metropolitan squad. She was also a Patrolling and Competing member of the Carrum Surf Life Saving Club from the ages of 6 to 21 when an injury meant she could no longer participate.

Jessie is passionate about her family, friends, community and sport. Most weekends you can find her at a football game or spending time with her large extended family and group of close friends.

Nick has a background in Strength and Conditioning, and has worked with the Melbourne Aces in the Australian Baseball League, as well as spending time on their playing roster. Nick brings his wealth of experience in managing strength and conditioning and rehabilitation gyms in the past, and has a passion for health and wellbeing that he hopes to pass on to our clients.

Kate joined our Back in Motion practice in March 2016. Kate started University in 2015, but deferred her Occupational Therapy course to travel Europe for 3 months and choose a different career path. Since returning she has been working as a waitress in Mordialloc and an Administrator at Back in Motion. Kate plans to return to University in 2017 to commence studying again. In her spare time Kate enjoys competing in equestrian events with her horses, traveling the world, socializing with friends and spending time with her family.

Erin has been working for several years in the hospital sector, and in 2016 made the leap to private practice at Patterson Lakes to make use of her excellent rehabilitation skills and Clinical Pilates experience. Erin is a passionate rower, often training in the early hours and late into the evening, and being a bayside local she can be spotted out on the water regularly. Erin is passionate about overall wellbeing and physical health, pushing her patients to achieve their goals, and her Monday and Tuesday Pilates classes are incredibly popular. Erin is also a qualified Dry Needling practitioner, and is available on Monday and Tuesday nights for dry needling treatment.
